Why We Built This Site
Louisiana's public court information is divided among a statewide index, local case systems and the clerks who hold the official files. eClerks LA provides index access for listed categories, while the Parish Clerk of Court or another clerk serving the court keeps the trial record. A docket is a running list of filings and events; it is not the underlying motion, order or certified copy. A statewide result can help identify the case, but the full docket and filed papers may require a request to the local custodian. The directory lists all 64 parishes, and Orleans has separate civil and criminal district-court clerk routes.
What You Will Find Here
- Docket guides: how criminal dockets, civil dockets and traffic court records are searched across Louisiana
- Court dates and settings: how to read the court calendar and confirm a hearing date or setting
- Case lookups: how to run a case search by party name or case number through the statewide portal
- Record requests: how court records and certified copies are requested from the parish Clerk of Court or other local custodian
- How the courts fit together: a plain-language map of the Louisiana court system and the records held at each level
- Your parish: the parish directory links to local court-record routes across Louisiana
What We Cannot Do
This is an independent reference site, with no connection to a Louisiana court, parish clerk or state agency. The official offices make decisions and maintain records. This site cannot:
- We cannot pull an official docket sheet or case file for anyone
- We cannot change, reschedule, or reset a court date or hearing setting
- We cannot remove, seal, or amend a case on any docket
- We cannot issue certified copies of any docket, order, or court document
- We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific case applies to you
- We cannot guarantee that every phone number, fee, or setting listed on this site is current right now
Only the clerk who holds the case, or the court that heard it, can issue an official or certified copy of a docket sheet or court record. We can point you to the right office, but the document has to come from that custodian.
Search Partners
Some search boxes come from outside providers, which control their own services, prices and results. If a visitor follows one of those links to a paid service, this site may receive a referral fee. The provider's terms and privacy rules apply to information entered there; this site does not control those systems.
